Textured Background

A quick 'Thank You' note!
I had the butterfly already colored (with colored pencils) and just waiting to be made the center of attention!
I textured the background with a Sizzix embossing folder ( TH Gridlock), tore the edge and added a bit of aqua ink and Stickles "Star Dust"...just for interest and depth. Then I stamped the simple "Thanks" (Stampin' Up) on a scrap of yellow cs, tore the edge....put it all together with 3M adhesive tape...all done!

The Stickles really sparkles alot more than it shows in the pictures...quite pretty!
And the butterfly is part of a set called "Tab Basics 1" by StampimgScrapping.com (who really is Cindy Echtinaw...the one who designed the new Spellbinders tool called "Tool N' One"...clever gal!)

Thank You Cards

Finally finished making baby announcements for my new granddaughter and got a good start on the Thank You notes my daughter asked for. Trying to keep them very simple so they are quick to make! So far, so good! Here is one with a little HouseMouse. She is colored with colored pencils and has a little extra pink on her, plus a flower on her tail so you know she's a SHE.

Ingredients:
Stamps - Stampabilities "Contented Mudpie", & "Thank You"
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, TH Distress Vintage Photo
Card stock - Imaginesce "Baby Powder"
Border punch - Martha Stewart "Doily Lace"

Pink, Pink and MORE Pink!

Good morning, Friends!
Our news today: we have a brand new granddaughter!!
Yes, my daughter had a girl...after 3 boys, this is SO special! Of course, we LOVE our grandsons but my daughter, Chris, really needed a little female companionship in that house of males! Now there are pink and ruffles everywhere! And I DID get to give them the girly baby card I made a few weeks ago!
