"Let your light so shine..."

Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:16

This verse has always been so challenging and encouraging to me!
Challenging because it reminds me that people are watching me...my actions, behavior, attitude...and it can speak to them of God.......or not! Awesome responsibility!
But also encouraging because the light I am to let shine does not originate from me. The origin of that Great Light is Jesus Christ Himself, living in me, indwelling me by His Holy Spirit. Awesome priviledge!

So I wanted the Bible verse itself to be the main focus on this card. The lighthouse stamp always makes me think of Jesus, our Lighthouse...our guide who sheds light on our dangerous path, keeping us safe.
The stamp is one that I bought at that lighthouse: the Big Sable Point Lighthouse at Ludington State Park in Michigan. Its great for men's cards, graduation cards, and encouragement cards.
The little ivory half pearls are from Pizzazz Aplenty.
The verse is a copy of the FREEBIE available this week at
and I am entering it in their challenge this week, #30.
I am also entering it in the challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ because the verse mentions "heaven" and that is part of the theme this week at SSiC, challenge #142.
The last challenge I am entering this card in is the one at Our Daily Bread Designs, #110, a color challenge which includes the colors pink, black and/or grey, and white/vanilla.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week! May the great God in heaven bless you!

The Bible verse is definitely still the focal point, but my eye is drawn to that beautiful image that you've stamped so beautifully. I love your color scheme, amd it just all came together so nicely. Great job, Sandie! And thanks for sharing this with us in this week's challenge at Word Art Wednesday. We're so blessed to have you with us!
Have a great week, and we hope to see you again next week for our first double prize challenge. Blessings!

Whoa...I just did a double-take and realized it was YOU! I'm laughing so hard right now. You're probably thinking "joining our challenge?...I'm a PART of the challenge!" That is so funny. I don't think I even looked at your blog banner...just went straight to the card. Just as I clicked publish on the comment window I saw the SSIC DT blinkie on your sidebar and thought, "Wait a minute!" Oh, so funny....well, thanks for doing ANOTHER inspiration piece for our challenge...it's perfect!

Okay you and I are going to have to go shopping in Ludington together and you can show me where you got that stamp. Such a lovely card, such soft colors! And a great verse too, thanks so much for sharing it! Thanks for coming alongside us this month at Stampin' Sisters in Christ! (I live about an hour from Ludington, wouldn't it be fun?)
