A Springtime Cup of Tea...or Two!

Once again a challenge I wanted to make a card for has the theme "Tea for Two" and I really wanted to use the adorable House Mouse stamp I have called "Feeling Rosey" with Maxwell sitting IN a cup of tea. But since its tea for TWO I thought I'd try doing a reverse stamp. I was surprised how well it worked! I stamped the image on my rubber mat for embossing in my Cuttlebug, then laid my paper on it and pressed evenly. I colored them both using Promarkers, Spectrum Noir markers and a few colored pencils, overlapped the reverse one so you can't see the tea bag tag which printed backwards, of course! So here it is:

The yellow rhinestones don't show up well in the photo but do catch the light nicely when held in your hand or propped for display.

A Rainbow of Colors

Good evening, my Friends!
Thanks for stopping by!
Today I had a few minutes to finish this spring-colored card. I used a whole rainbow of colors: pink, peach, yellow, aqua, green and ivory.

The Bible verse on this card is one of my favorites; it is not one of the Ten Commandments, but is, rather, a summary of them...the heart of them. If we would love the LORD our God with our whole heart, soul and strength, all the other commandments would be much easier...they would come naturally.
I'm not sure what I will use this card for...probably a "Thinking of You" card.
For now, I am entering it in a few challenges:
http://papertakeweekly.blogspot.com - "One Paper Taker" (one patterned paper)
http://sweetstampsblog.blogspot.com - #113 "A Rainbow of Colors"

And here is the list of things I used for this one:
Cuttlebug embossing folders - "D'vine Swirls" & "Swiss Dots"
Bible verse - Our Daily Bread "Scripture Series 3"
Lg Dots patterned paper - The Paper Studio
Pizzazz Aplenty - pink & yellow blossom, flatback pearls in pink & peach
Scalloped circle stamp - Martha Stewart "Hearts & Flowers"
Offray ribbon - olive green
Zots glue dots
Satin roses, paper rose, doily, card stock - all from my stash

Spring is Coming!

Spring really IS coming to Michigan! This week is rainy but warmer and my tulips are up at least 6" already! I'm just starting to see a bright green tint in the woods...gotta love it!

Several challenges are asking for "Spring" themed cards/projects, so I made another one!
This one involves a new technique...new to me anyway! It is called "Wax paper Resist Technique". I saw it on the SweetStamps Blog...its is their monthly technique challenge for April. I thought it might be difficult to do...but wasn't! I tried it on the wrong kind of paper the first time and the results were disappointing...very pale colors and designs, but this time I'm happy with the results. I always think of bright spring green, new grass, blue skies and sunny days for Springtime....so that's what I put on this card.
I used a Sizzix embossing folder, "Flourishes, Dots" and also a Cuttlebug folder, "D'vine Swirls" with the wax paper to get my background. The flower is from StampingScrapping.com; button from my stash, leaves are stamped using "Fade Out Leaf" from Stamps by Judith; "Spring" is a stamp from Imaginisce.
